Historical Site Visits
In addition to our monthly lectures we also organise visits to places of historical interest both locally and further afield. Open to both members and non-members these visits cover a wide range of interests and historical periods both modern and ancient. Visits vary from just a couple of hours if local to a full day out depending on the type of visit and distance from Highworth. Interesting places in good company – what more could you want?
Highworth is very fortunate to be located in an area which is so rich in history. From our Stone Age past to the present day there is something here to interest everyone and our historical trips are designed to try and encompass as wide an area as we can. They cover many places both in time and distance and so far we have visited ancient burial sites, churches, World War 2 sites, National Trust properties plus houses and sites of historical importance here in Highworth.
